🃏 Uncover Strategy in SCOUT Card Game
Are you ready to embark on a ladder-climbing journey filled with twists and turns? SCOUT Card Game introduces a unique gameplay experience where cards wield dual values, and players must strategize without rearranging their hand. Dive into the world of SCOUT and master the art of the scout and play!
🔄 Dual-Indexed Cards with Endless Possibilities In SCOUT, the cards are dual-indexed, featuring different values on each half, ranging from 1 to 10. During setup, the deck's cards and their orientation should both be randomized. Each player receives a hand of cards, which they must pick up without reshuffling or changing the card order. However, players have the option to rotate their entire hand to access the values on the opposite ends of each card, adding a layer of strategy to the game.
🎯 Two Strategic Actions Players in SCOUT have two key actions to choose from:
-
Play: Players can select one or more adjacent cards in their hand that share the same value or have consecutive values, either ascending or descending. They then play this set of cards onto the table, but there are conditions. The table must be empty on the first turn, or the set played must outrank the set currently on the table. A set outranks another if it has more cards, contains cards of the same value instead of consecutive ones, or features a set of the same type but with higher values. When a player overplays another set, they claim the cards from the previous set and place them face down in front of themselves.
-
Scout: Instead of playing, players can choose to scout. This action allows them to select a card from either end of the set currently on the table and incorporate it anywhere in their hand, in any orientation. As a reward for the previous set played, the player who initiated the scout receives a 1 VP token.
Additionally, once per round, a player can scout and immediately play a set.
🏆 Winning the Game The game continues with rounds equal to the number of players. To determine the winner, points are tallied. Players earn 1 VP for each face-down card and subtract one point for each card remaining in their hand at the end of the round. However, if a player was scouted repeatedly to end the game, they don't suffer the point deduction.
