Mushroom dice sets for tabletop RPGs

Mushroom dice are a small niche with a devoted following, and the appeal is easy to see once you have a set in hand. Each die is cast in clear resin around miniature sculpted toadstools, so the inclusions sit suspended at different depths and catch the light as the die rolls. Because they are handmade, no two dice in a set are quite alike — the mushrooms sit at their own angles and the colour pools differently through each face.

They suit a particular kind of character. A Circle of Spores druid, a myconid-adjacent warlock, a ranger who knows which fungi are safe to eat, or anyone running a campaign in deep forest, cavern or Underdark settings. Players who want something quieter than glitter or galaxy dice tend to land here, because the inclusions carry the interest instead of the sparkle.

Our range is built mostly on soft edge resin sets of seven, with rounded corners that roll easily and are kind to a wooden table. Alongside them sits the Mushie Colony, an oversized 33mm liquid core D20 with a cluster of mushrooms inside and fluid that shifts as it settles — a display piece as much as a die.

If mushrooms are part of a broader look you are after, browse the wider soft edge dice sets, the faceted sharp edge resin dice, our liquid core dice and the animal dice sets for more inclusion designs.

Frequently asked questions

What are mushroom dice made of?

Most of our mushroom dice are cast in clear resin with miniature sculpted mushrooms set inside, then finished with soft, rounded edges. The Fungal Spore Bloom set is acrylic rather than resin, and the oversized Mushie Colony D20 pairs its inclusions with a liquid core.

What is in a 7 piece mushroom dice set?

The standard polyhedral seven: D4, D6, D8, D10, percentile D10, D12 and D20. That is everything you need for Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder and most other d20 systems.

Which D&D character suits mushroom dice?

They are a natural fit for a Circle of Spores druid, and just as good for rangers, nature clerics, forest warlocks and anyone playing a myconid or fungus-touched character. They also suit any campaign set in caverns, deep forest or the Underdark, whatever the class.

Are soft edge dice good for rolling?

Yes. Soft edge dice have rounded corners, so they roll and settle more readily than sharp edge dice and are gentler on a table or dice tray. Sharp edge sets look crisper and are more of a display piece — you can compare them in our sharp edge resin dice.

Is every mushroom dice set identical?

No, and that is rather the point. They are handmade, so the mushrooms inside sit at slightly different angles and depths in every die. Expect small variations between sets, and occasional tiny bubbles in the resin — these are characteristic of handmade inclusion dice rather than faults.

Where can I buy mushroom dice in the UK?

Tabletop Dominion stocks mushroom dice in the UK, dispatched quickly from our shop in Accrington, Lancashire, with free UK delivery on orders over £20. Sets sell out from time to time — if the colour you want is unavailable, it is usually worth checking back.
