Astra Militarum in Warhammer 40,000

The Astra Militarum, the Imperial Guard, are the countless human regiments of the Imperium, ordinary soldiers backed by tanks and artillery. They win through weight of numbers and firepower: massed infantry, Leman Russ battle tanks and heavy guns, held together by officers issuing orders.

They suit players who love tanks, big armies and the feel of a real military force, and who do not mind painting a lot of infantry. The range spans cadian, Krieg and Catachan infantry, command squads, Leman Russ and Chimera vehicles, artillery, characters and Combat Patrol boxes. Everything here is a genuine Games Workshop product, sold in the UK by Tabletop Dominion.

Collecting Astra Militarum: Yes if you like the look, though it is one of the larger armies to collect and paint. The rules are direct and the tanks are a joy to build. A sensible first purchase is a starter box where one exists, or a couple of units and a leader, with the Warhammer 40,000 rules and a small set of paints. Stock shown here updates from our warehouse system through the day, and in-stock items sort to the top.

Browse the wider Warhammer 40,000 Imperium armies page, or compare with Adeptus Mechanicus and Space Marines. When it is time to paint, our Citadel paints collection carries the base, layer, shade and contrast ranges, and all Warhammer lists every Games Workshop product we stock.
